In 2018, Minnetonka Cupcake Co. was just a dream; however, in 2020 that dream became a reality when owner/operator Marissa Thayer took the leap and started this small business in Lake Minnetonka. Our aim was straightforward: to offer the locals the tastiest and most one-of-a-kind cupcakes they've ever had. We specialize in flavored cupcakes, from classic vanilla to unique combinations like Salted Caramel and White Chocolate Raspberry. Our commitment to quality extends to every aspect of our business, from the order intake to the final delivery and everything in-between.We believe that every cupcake should be a work of art, and that’s why we take such care with every single one we make. Born and raised near St. Paul, MN, Marissa has always had a passion for people. Giving back, volunteering, and generally putting a smile on others faces is what gave her the most joy. She was always looking for the next opportunity to do so and when it came time to decide what she wanted to do in life...She realized that baking specialty cupcakes was a great way to consistently put smiles on people’s faces and be a part of their special day (even from behind the scenes!) so that's when Minnetonka Cupcake Co. was dreamt up and later a reality.When she isn’t in the kitchen baking up the next bundle of delicious cupcakes, you can find Marissa chasing her toddler, randomly boarding a flight to a new spot, trying unique restaurants, or hanging with her family in Lake Minnetonka.Minnetonka Cupcake Co. couldn’t be a reality without the amazing support system that Marissa has at home. Her husband, Will, supports the dream, cheers her on, and even sometimes bakes a batch of cupcakes in the oven while her daughter, Clara, holds the title of Honest Toddler Reviewer and taste tests several of the new cupcakes that Marissa wants to put on the menu.
